Dexter began his career in the commercial real estate industry in 1981 as an INROADS Intern with The Equitable Life Assurance Society where he learned the fundamentals to own, manage, and lease commercial real estate. During his 25 plus year career with Equitable Real Estate, Lend Lease, and Morgan Stanley, Dexter served in a variety of investing roles and completed his tenure as an Executive Director and Portfolio Manager with Morgan Stanley. As a trusted advisor, Dexter’s strategically supported major institutional real estate owners achieve their investing objectives.  

From acquiring, asset managing, developing, and selling of assets in many major markets across the country, Dexter’s combined asset value experience exceeded $15 billion, including: urban and suburban office product; regional malls, power, lifestyle and neighborhood centers; multifamily communities; industrial projects; luxury resort hotels, and senior housing communities.  

Dexter became the Chief Operating Officer and a Principal with T. Dallas Smith & Company in 2010 which is the largest African-American firm focusing exclusively on tenant representation services. Dexter represents several strategic clients including: AT&T, The Coca-Cola Company, FedEx Express, J.P. Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Integral Group, H. J. Russell & Company, Atlanta BeltLine, Georgia Aquarium, DLH Solutions, KHAFRA Engineering, and Urban League of Greater Atlanta.    

Dexter is active in the community with some of his past and present affiliations including:  Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau Board - Chair; Member – Board of Councilors at The Carter Center; Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS (former Director); Investment Committee Member - Leadership Atlanta (former Board Chair); Commercial Real Estate Council - Empire Board of Realtists (former Chair); Member - Metro Atlanta Chamber; Member – DeKalb Chamber of Commerce; Member - Central Atlanta Progress; Member - Atlanta Business League; Member - CoreNet Global; and Former GSU Foundation Board Trustee and Chair of the Real Estate Committee. Dexter received his BBA in Management and MS in Real Estate from Georgia State University. He is married to Dr. Karen LaWuane Warrior, and they have two sons – Ethan and Gabriel and reside in Atlanta, GA.
