Andrew Wilson, senior vice president and general manager of Atlanta.net, directs all online and offline marketing initiatives of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) including ongoing operations of Atlanta.net and its family of Web sites. Wilson has been with the organization since January 2009.
In his current position, Wilson works with bureau members and the city's key organizations to integrate content and messaging, developing Atlanta's official destination presence on the Web. In addition, Wilson is charged with developing ecommerce initiatives and advertising revenue that boost the bureau's overall promotion of Atlanta.
He began his career with more than a decade at consumer marketing giant, Procter & Gamble, where he gained experienced in product development based on consumer behavior. Following, he held leadership positions in business development, marketing, corporate branding and product positioning with companies such as Cap Gemini and Alliance Consulting, and has consulted for CibaVision Corporation.
Wilson later became chief operating officer for Brand Atlanta, a not-for-profit city-led initiative to develop and promote a singular brand identity for Atlanta. Three years later he has transitioned his experience with destination marketing to his current role at Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau.
A resident of Atlanta since 2002, he has also lived and worked on four continents which has given him a broad perspective to critically evaluate the destination product. Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa and has dual citizenship in the United States and the United Kingdom.
