Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) is closing out its 100th year with honors recognizing both the organization and its staff.

“The honors ACVB received this year reflect the organization’s ongoing dedication to providing exceptional customer service,” said William Pate, president and CEO of ACVB. "We have an exceptionally talented staff and it is exciting to see their hard work being recognized."

Industry Awards: Readers of three top meetings publications recognized ACVB for outstanding customer service. For more than two decades, meeting planners have consistently recognized ACVB for exceeding expectations and setting the gold standard for CVBs.

  • For the 22nd consecutive year, Successful Meetings honored ACVB with the Pinnacle Award. Meeting planners selected ACVB for its outstanding meeting, trade show and convention services.

  • Meetings & Conventions honored ACVB for the 21st consecutive year with the Gold Service Award for exceptional professionalism and dedicated service to meeting planners.

  • ACVB received the Smart Meetings Platinum Choice Award for the third consecutive year. The award recognized ACVB, among CVBs throughout North America, for its dedication to providing the highest standard of service for clients.

Campaign Awards: ACVB collaborated with Atlanta’s hospitality industry to create the ATL Files video series, designed to showcase the city’s destination appeal to meeting planners and attendees. The innovative concepts behind ATL Files and the new I AM ATL advertising campaign were recognized by several leading hospitality and marketing associations.

  • The HSMAI Adrian Awards honor outstanding achievements in advertising, public relations and digital marketing in the travel industry. Out of 1,200 entries submitted, ACVB and video producer Green Media Works were recognized with a Gold award for the ATL Files video campaign. ACVB in collaboration with digital marketing and media agency USDM received a Bronze award for the I AM ATL advertising campaign.

  • The Davey Awards is the largest, most prestigious awards competition for small advertising firms. This year ACVB, in collaboration with Green Media Works, won a Gold Davey Award for the ATL Files trailer video.

  • Created by the Web Marketing Association, the International Advertising Competition Awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising. The I AM ATL advertising campaign developed by ACVB’s agency of record, USDM, won Best Travel Integrated Ad Campaign.

Individual Awards: Throughout the year, hospitality industry publications and organizations recognize ACVB individuals for their talent, hard work and dedication to the hospitality industry.

  • Successful Meetings named Kathleen Bertrand, senior vice president of community and governmental affairs, among “The 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry in 2013.”

  • The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) honored Mark Sussman, director of trade show sales, with the Merit Award. The award recognizes those whose work have benefited IAEE as an organization and stepped forward in their chapter.

  • The eTOURISM Summit named Andrew Wilson, senior vice president and general manager, atlanta.net, as one of “Four over Forty.” The annual list honors four professionals who have made significant contributions to the e-tourism industry.

  • Destination Marketing Association International named Gabrielle Dickson, sales specialist, one of its “30 Under 30.” The award recognizes talented destination marketing professionals throughout the nation aged 30 and under.
