Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) selected Gabrielle Dickson, sales specialist for Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) for their 30 Under 30 program, which recognizes talented destination marketing professionals. Dickson will be recognized at DMAI’s 99th Annual Convention in Orlando, FL, July 15-17.
In its third year, DMAI’s 30 under 30 program identifies and develops the talent of destination marketing professionals, aged 30 and under, through increased access to top-level networking and professional development. Applicants were nominated by their CVB’s CEO.
Dickson joined the ACVB in 2007 as a sales administrative assistant after receiving her degree in hospitality administration from Georgia State University. She was promoted to sales specialist in 2011 and voted 2012 ACVB Employee of the Year by her fellow colleagues.
“We are very pleased that Gabrielle has been selected as one of DMAI’s 30 under 30,” said William Pate, President and CEO of ACVB. “She is a great example of what a young professional in the hospitality industry should be—smart, driven and enthusiastic, we are very proud she is being recognized for this program.”
In her current role, Dickson oversees the development and production of ACVB on-site sales events. Since 2009, she’s flawlessly executed the Update Atlanta event, which continues to be one of ACVB’s most effective programs for promoting Atlanta as the premier convention and meeting destination through direct sales and personal interaction. Dickson also manages ACVB’s brand presence at industry trade shows such as the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) Annual Meeting & Exposition and DMAI’s Destinations Showcase.
Celebrating 100 years of hospitality, Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau is a private, nonprofit organization created to favorably impact the Atlanta economy through conventions and tourism.
