American Coatings SHOW Shatters Records during First Atlanta Event

American Coatings SHOW (ACS) broke all previous attendance and exhibitor records during its first-ever show in Atlanta, held April 7-10 at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC).

The fourth edition of the American Coatings SHOW & CONFERENCE welcomed more than 8,700 attendees and 480 exhibitors from 70 countries. The 2014 event generated an increase of 16 percent in attendance over the third edition of the show, which was held in Indianapolis in 2012, and a 20 percent uptick in exhibit space to 110,000 net square feet.

“Nearly 25 percent of ACS attendees are international, so Atlanta was the optimal choice in terms of accessibility,” said Andy Doyle, president of the American Coatings Association. “With the world’s busiest passenger airport in our host city, attendees from around the world could travel to the show with ease, which resulted in the most attended ACS in its history.”

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport provides nonstop service to more than 150 U.S. destinations and nearly 70 international destinations in more than 45 countries. Eighty percent of the U.S. population is within a two-hour direct flight of the city, making Atlanta one of the most accessible destinations in the world.

“Thanks to Atlanta’s robust infrastructure and collaborative hospitality community, major events like the ACS can enjoy seamless success” said William Pate, president and CEO of Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Atlanta has more to offer in terms of ease of access, places to meet, and things to do than ever before.”

The American Coatings Association, a voluntary, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the needs of the paint and coatings industry, hosts ACS in partnership with Vincentz Network, a publishing company based in Germany. The American Coatings SHOW & CONFERENCE is the leading North American coatings industry event, offering exhibitions, educational sessions, and the prestigious American Coatings Award.
