Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau Welcomes Two New Hires
The Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) has hired Carla Jean-Thomas Carroll as national sales manager and Heather Kirksey as public relations manager.
As national sales manager, Carroll will be responsible for generating leads and booking meetings that require 251 to 1,200 hotel rooms on peak. Prior to joining the ACVB, she spent eight years working in sales with Noble House Hotels & Resorts properties, including the Kona Kai Resort & Marina in San Diego, Riviera Palm Springs, and WaterColor Inn & Resort in Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.
In the role of public relations manager, Kirksey will be responsible for leveraging media relationships and opportunities to increase the visibility of Atlanta as a top U.S. travel destination. Prior to joining the ACVB, she spent three years with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta where she managed public relations initiatives to support Children’s sports medicine, orthopaedic, transplant, rehabilitation and foundation programs. She also brings more than eight years of television news experience to the team, serving most recently as a sports anchor and reporter for WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg, MS.
