Local spotlight: Finding Treasure at Scott Antique Market
Atlanta offers many antique stores that are open year-round, but none are quite like Scott Antique Market. This antique show takes place the second weekend of every month just south of Downtown and is truly a unique experience. Home goods, retro gas station signage, taxidermy bobcats and glass mugs featuring professional wrestlers such as Andre the Giant are just a few of the treasures you can find at this one-of-a-kind market.
Scott Antique Market began more than 20 years ago in Atlanta when founder Don Scott made his living buying and selling antiques. The show has since expanded to other cities but the Atlanta show has grown into the world’s largest indoor monthly antique show. Held at the Atlanta Expo Center, it features more than 3,300 booths housed in two warehouses that make up 366,000 square feet of exhibit space. Visitors can have a full day of exploring the market, so walking shoes are encouraged.
Atlanta is a great fit for Scott Antique Market because the city is the transportation hub of the Southeast, making it an extremely accessible destination. It is an ideal location to hold a show that attracts buyers and sellers from the region, country and even globally. European, American and mid-century modern items from furniture, accessories, jewelry and more can be found at Scott Antique Market.
Throughout the years, millions of shoppers have hunted the grounds of this iconic antique show and have come to know it as “America’s Favorite Treasure Hunt.” From Shabby Chic to Victorian, Scott Antique Market showcases items for every shopper.
